My name is Amanda Burton and I am a sophomore at Longwood University. I am working towards my Bachelors of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Management and a minor in Communications. My goal is to obtain an internship in which my broad mix of skills in planning, supervision and communication will benefit a growing, customer- oriented company.
I am involved in Longwood community both through volunteer activities and work experience. I am an active member of Alpha Sigma Alpha. Within this sorority one of our main focuses is to give back to the community. By doing this, I assist with Special Olympics events throughout the year to help organize and serve this organization. Along with the Special Olympics, I participate in helping children with developmental needs through the S. June Smith Center. I also took the opportunity of being involved in the Future Entrepreneurs of America club in which we worked as a team to help struggling businesses systemize and promote their business more efficiently.
I enjoy utilizing my leadership skills to help others and to make a difference in whatever it may be that I am doing. I want to help pave the path for the world to walk a path of excellence.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy"
